Hi! Just stopped by to congratulate you on your win! Feel free to stop by anytime!!
Wow, I truly do not have a life. My second post in a day, and while I should be sleeping, no less. The upside is, now I can elaborate on the things I skimmed over because of the gargantuan paragraph about the French project... which I also intend to elaborate on. I suggest you read the last two posts before you start on this one. Here goes.
I spent my time last night revising the papers for that project and the nights before actually typing the thing amid all this other work that I had. A friend and I were the only ones in our group who bothered with it after that initial day in class. I suppose it's just as well because, in all honesty, I don't trust anyone else to write it out. I found two mistakes before I was going to hand it in. If I, being the meticulous person that I am, made two mistakes after I read it over countless times, I shudder to think of what our grade would be if someone who wasn't as picky had written it. The whole thing took up six pages and it was all in French except for our names which were obviously in English. I also spent last night hacking at an egg carton with a box cutter to make the four "une douzaine d'oeufs" representations needed for the "shop." As much as I like French and my French teacher, I still think this project from our French student teacher is tres stupide. I understand the value of knowing how to buy milk but really, wasting my life does not take priority over everything else.
On to bio. We've been learning about the cell cycle, mitosis, and meiosis. As if we needed to know that. I won't be contemplating the functionality of the G1 phase or the purpose of the mitotic apparatus anytime soon. What a bucket load of crap. We had so much stuff to do and we have even more over break. As for western civ, we're learning about the Industrial Revolution. I appreciate the invention of computers and all but I don't care about the spinning jenny. It sounds like a maniacal little girl.
What else did I fail to mention? Oh yes, English. Recently, we've read A Separate Peace (the characters act gay but our teacher says no, they aren't), Of Mice and Men (it's sad and short), and now we're reading Oedipus (he had it coming). We've had quite a few essays and now there is an oral report. Can someone stab me and get it over with? I really don't feel like researching immigration. *hunts for a sharp pencil*
In summary, here's the work I have to do over break:
Biology: extra credit (my average is a 90 so I need to bump it up), "Protein Synthesis" packet/coloring plates/word list, and the key terms & people illustrations/descriptions.
English: list of facts & oral report prep. and vocab units 7 and 8.
Math: homework as usual... as if I'd remember anything when we come back.
French: evaluate group members (I'd better do it later because I'll just give everyone a zero with the mood I'm in).
It's not as bad as it could be but you can still feel sorry for me :[ Bon soir, folks.
