Hi! Just stopped by to congratulate you on your win! Feel free to stop by anytime!!
Last week was not a good week for me. In some ways, it was ok; in others, it sucked. It began when I didn't finish my homework over the weekend (namely, biology). Monday was alright and I was relieved to find out that our bio test (originally scheduled for Tuesday) was moved to Thursday.
In French on Monday, we had a "dress rehearsal" for our play projets. Dress rehearsal my a**. It was basically the final grade so if you didn't your lines memorized, you failed. Even if you did have your lines memorized, you could still get a C if the student teacher hated you. We all went down to the auditorium and embarrassed ourselves onstage. Ah well.
Thankfully, my group did well and we were selected as one of the best, so on Wednesday, we got to perform for the 7th grade French classes at the middle school. Merveilleux! It was fun missing two classes in a row while our unfortunate peers were still stuck in school. Something I'll probably remember for the rest of my life, "La morale de la pièce est 'à force de forger on devient forgeron.'" So true, but no one listens. By the way, the student teacher is gone. His last day was Thursday, May 10th. I'll miss him. He was a cool guy, but as a teacher... well, these blog posts tell you plenty.
My fun week ended there. Or did it just never start? Whatever, philosophical discussion. Anyway, Tuesday was my western civ test (I think I failed, I think I failed, I think I failed) and my math test (I know I failed, I know I failed, I know I failed). That night I had to study bio and complete the work (packets, vocab, and other stuff I have no clue about) and write sentences of specific structures for English with dependent clauses and crap [that relate to Holden Caulfield.] I didn't do the sentences because I stayed up late to do bio.
I ended up finishing the sentences during windows class, western civ, biology, and lunch (basically my whole entire morning). I missed math class that day for the play and I had to make up the work (which I still have no idea how to do). That night I stayed up really late yet again to complete my biology stuff. I ended up not doing a packet and had to do the vocabulary in windows class. I'm such a good student, I know.
I know I failed the bio test. It was hard and I honestly don't know anything about allele frequencies except how to fill out a
Thursday in math, we went outside to do transit projects again. It was fun to go outside and my group was able to finish quickly. Yay, fresh air! I do hate math but the class (as in the people) is fun. Sadly, we have a project due in western civ and in this class too. I've got work to do.
Unfortunately, the good news ends here. English class Wednesday: we've been reading The Catcher in the Rye, right? Well, the main character's name is Holden Caulfield. I don't want to explain the symbolism behind his name but take my word for it, this kid is messed up. I mean really, his issues can fill a completely separate book. Seeing as The Catcher in the Rye is about the kid talking to his shrink, you'd think it would be impossible to fill another book, but no, I think it's possible to write a book that's even longer. That's how many issues this kid has.
Anyway, my English teacher wakes up one morning and decides hey, this kid has issues so let's write essays about him/them! I bet my students will love that! NO FREAKING WAY. So she assigned the essay Wednesday, wanted a discussion Thursday, and a rough draft so final that "it should be ready to turn in with a bit of tweaking" by Friday. Exact quote, I swear. I had to write mine Thursday night since I spent Wednesday night stressing over bio. Too bad for me, I got writers block Thursday night and as a result, I wrote my essay during windows class, western civ, biology, and lunch (basically my whole morning again).
I got nothing done over the weekend but I typed up the "essay" I wrote Friday morning, so this morning during bio class, I added onto the last paragraph. In English class, we marked all the sentences according to their structure and mine was 18 sentences long... 2 S, 4 CD, 8 CX, and 4 CDCX. The final draft is due this Thursday so I'll take my time. However, looking back on last week, I expect the worst... I'm likely to get writer's block again.
I've noticed that the quality of these blog entries has declined somewhat. I'll try harder, I promise. In Microsoft Word, these entries usually end up being about 2 pages in length (sometimes 3 or more pages if I really feel like venting); that's more than I bother to write for English. In fact, I willingly type these about once a week. More than I can say for my essays. Oh well... are you experiencing schadenfreude as you read this? You'd better not be.
